[SOLVED] Acrobat Reader DC Crashing on multiple PC's After Oct 2 2018 update - Spiceworks

[SOLVED] Acrobat Reader DC Crashing on multiple PC's After Oct 2 2018 update - Spiceworks: o after some extensive searching, I found a solution. Apparently this has been an issue for quite some time and is just now causing a headache for me.

From what I can gather, Adobe Reader DC is hanging when attempting to access Adobe's Cloud service and is unable to due to Firewall rules. By enabling Feature Lockdowns in the registry, one can successfully block Reader from trying to access Cloud services.

The link below details a list of Feature Lockdowns for Adobe Reader DC. These can be used to limit access to features in Reader DC. I was able to deploy these registry edits via GPO so all PC's are under the same rule set.

https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/FeatureLockdown.html#Services-Clo...

Below is an export of the Registry key I created to fix the issue. Close Adobe Reader DC, import the key values, then restart Reader DC. Worked like a charm. I'll be checking out the rest of the lockable settings for Adobe Reader for other items to lock down.

Cheers!
